On behalf of the team at Eyewear Central we hope you, your family and loved ones are safe in these uneasy times. This is truly an unprecedented situation that we are approaching very seriously, as the health and wellbeing of our patients is of paramount priority, whilst still providing critical services to the community. It is of utmost importance to ensure the safety of our patients, friends, family, suppliers and staff.

Practice Trading

Eyewear Central will be open for near to normal trading (please check google for any update in trading hours) with continued access to our ongoing services including 1-hour spectacles, contact lenses, eyedrops, solutions and full scope optometric eye testing.

Stock levels are steady and we recommend patients who need ongoing supplies like contact lenses, solutions and drops to organise this with Eyewear Central in the near future to avoid any unexpected changes in situation. We also offer free direct to patient deliveries for most contact lenses, please speak to any of our staff to organise this.

We have however imposed a number of measures through our clinic to improve and ensure safe practice during this time.

Safety Measures

We have stringent hygiene practices that are adhered to from each consultation to weekly practices. However additional procedures have been already implemented to keep visitors and staff safe.

Increased comprehensive cleaning of the practice, including the use of 70% – 99.8% Isopropyl Alcohol on all high contact surfaces and examination equipment, throughout the facility.

• Hand sanitiser is readily available for all visitors in our clinic.
• All staff have completed the Department of Health COVID-19 Infection Control Training.
• Where possible, non-contact testing will be used during all pretesting and clinical examination.
• All staff have been advised to not attend work should they have any signs of flu-like symptoms, have travelled in the last 14 days or been in close contact with any confirmed case of COVID-19.
• All non-essential contact with suppliers and sales representatives have been reduced to our clinic.

Our management team will continue to monitor the situation closely with ongoing information provided by the Australia Department of Health, the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Optometry Association of Australia (OAA).
